The theatre is a key object of Romani culture in Russia, and from the moment of its foundation in 1931, it has been a centre of attraction for Romani artists in Russia.

Romain ist ein Moskauer Musik-Drama-Theater, das 1931 von Ivan und Georgi Lebedevs gegründet wurde. Das erste Werk des Theaters wurde von Moses Goldblat geleitet. Das Theater befindet sich im Gebäude des Sovetsky Hotels. Sein Repertoire umfasst Produktionen zu bekannten literarischen Werken. Die Autoren der Drehbücher sind oft selbst Schauspieler.
