Saint-Germain-en-Laye [sɛ̃ ʒɛʁmɛ̃ ɑ̃ lɛ] ist eine frühere französische Gemeinde im westlichen Einzugsbereich von Paris im Département Yvelines in der Region Île-de-France. Die Stadt hatte 40.806 Einwohner (Stand: 1. Januar 2018) und erstreckte sich auf 48,27 Quadratkilometer.
Der Erlass vom 20. Dezember 2018 legte mit Wirkung zum 1. Januar 2019 die Eingliederung von Saint-Germain-en-Laye als Commune déléguée zusammen mit der früheren Gemeinde Fourqueux zur namensgleichen Commune nouvelle Saint-Germain-en-Laye fest.Der Ort liegt am Forêt Domaniale de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, einem großen Waldgebiet westlich von Paris, und hat eine historisch gewachsene Bebauung.

The Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye (French pronunciation: [ʃɑto də sɛ̃ ʒɛʁmɛ̃ ɑ̃ lɛ]) is a former royal palace in the commune of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, in the département of Yvelines, about 19 km west of Paris, France. The Musée départemental Maurice Denis "The Priory" is a museum dedicated to Nabi art located in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, in the Parisian region (Île-de-France). The museum is dedicated to Maurice Denis, a French symbolist Nabi painter. The museum showcases his work as well as that of many other members of the school; it is the largest collection of Nabi art in France.The Musée départemental Maurice Denis, or MDMD, was created in 1976 by the Conseil général of the Yvelines, the department in which it is located. The donation of both the priory and a large collection of Maurice Denis' family made the museum possible. It has been open to the public since 1980.
Musée Claude-Debussy
The Musée Claude-Debussy, or Maison Claude Debussy, is the birthplace of the composer Claude Debussy, in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, a western suburb of Paris, France. It contains a small museum about the composer.
The house was built in the 17th century. Claude Debussy was born here on 22 August 1862, and lived here in early childhood; his father had a china shop on the ground floor.The museum opened in 1990. It is reached by a wooden staircase in the inner courtyard. There are two rooms containing objects, furniture, manuscripts, photographs and paintings relating to the composer. A third room is a small auditorium.The wooden staircase is a monument historique. The award Maisons des Illustres ("Houses of the illustrious") has been given to the museum.
