English Waverley Cemetery
The Waverley Cemetery is a heritage-listed cemetery on top of the cliffs at Bronte in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Opened in 1877 and built by R. Watkins (cemetery lodge, 1878) and P. Beddie (cemetery office, 1915), the cemetery is noted for its largely intact Victorian and Edwardian monuments. It is regularly cited as being one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world. The cemetery contains the graves of many significant Australians including the poet Henry Lawson. It is also known as Waverley Cemetery and General Cemetery Waverley. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 28 October 2016.The cemetery is owned by Waverley Council and is self-funded, deriving its income from interments – including burial, cremation, memorials and mausolea – of which there has been over 86,000. Waverley Cemetery was used during the filming of the 1979 Mel Gibson film Tim. The cemetery was designed to function along similar lines to Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris and Kensal Green Cemetery in London.
Funerals are conducted Monday to Saturday.

На территории некрополя расположено более 50 тысяч могил, а общее число захоронений оценивается в 86 тысяч. Кроме обычных захоронений, на кладбище есть мавзолеи, склепы и колумбарии.Многие памятники и склепы кладбища выполнены в стиле эпох монархов Виктории и Эдуарда и являются местными достопримечательностями. Среди них — захоронения поэта Генри Лоусона и первого премьер-министра Австралии Эдмунда Бартона. Сам некрополь имеет II категорию исторических мест. С юга к кладбищу примыкает небольшая территория с захоронениями, произведёнными ещё до открытия самого Уэверли.С момента открытия на кладбище не используется какая-либо техника. С 1904 года действует крематорий.

French Cimetière de Waverley
Le cimetière de Waverley est un cimetière qui occupe le sommet des falaises de Bronte dans la banlieue sud-est de Sydney en Australie. Il se distingue par ses monuments des époques victoriennes et édouardiennes, en excellent état. Il contient notamment les tombes de personnalités australiennes, parmi lesquelles le poète Henry Lawson, le journaliste J. F. Archibald et l'ancien premier ministre Sir Edmund Barton, enterré à South Head.
Il a été inauguré en 1877. Sa superficie est de 17 hectares. Les cérémonies funéraires s'y déroulent du lundi au samedi
